Basis for Classification of Various Vaporizers

An ideal vaporizer present in the market makes use of an electric heating element in combination with a thermostatic temperature control system. Depending on the type and quality of these vaporizers, these may be priced from seventy dollars to a few hundred dollars. One major criterion to classify these vaporizers is on the basis of the heating mechanism used by them to heat the substance. A vaporizer may heat by thermal conduction, by convection or by thermal radiation.

Vaporizer

In vaporizer that uses conduction for heating, the plant material is placed on a metal sheet which on heating discharges vapors. These were the first ones to have hit the market. In convection vaporizer, heated air is passed continuously through it for rapid heating of the substance to release the vapors. This heating technique is more efficient than conduction. Convection vaporizers can be of two types: either a forced air type or a passive type. In forced air type, the air is constantly blown through the heating element and the plant extract with the help of a pump or a fan. In passive types, you directly inhale the vapor. The herb is subjected to bright light in case of a radiation vaporizer. Due to this temperature of the substance rises producing vapors. Mostly used these days are the convection vaporizers. Radiation vaporizers are very rare.
